What to Expect from Our Forklift Training Courses

Course Overview

Our forklift training courses in Sydney gives participants the knowledge, tools and skills required to safely and effectively operate a forklift, including checking the vehicle’s condition, driving it to the fulfil operational requirements, monitoring the conditions of a site and monitoring and maintaining the performance of a forklift.

Prior to forklift training commencement, a workbook will be sent to you for review containing the course outline and outcomes.

Forklift license course duration

3 Days (2 Days training and 1 day for WorkCover Assessment)

Target demographic

Individuals working in a warehouse or an occupation where forklift driving is required and who do not hold a current High Risk Work Licence of LF Class Forklift.

Forklift course entry requirements

To enrol in our Sydney based forklift training course, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum age 18 years
  • Basic command of English Language
  • Revision of Forklift Workbook before commencement of course

Assessment

The final assessment is a combination of written questions/answers and practical demonstrations.

Learning Outcomes

Once you have completed your forklift license course, we expect that the following outcomes have been met.

  • Use appropriate methodology of determining the weight of a load
  • Have knowledge of Commonwealth, state or territory OH&S legislation, standards relevant to the safe operation for the forklift trucks
  • Identify forklift characteristics and capabilities (including use of load data plates)
  • Identify hierarchy of hazard identification and control
  • Understand organisational and workplace standards, requirements, policies and procedures for conducting operations for the crane class
  • Identify procedures for the recording, reporting and maintenance of workplace records and information
  • Conduct Forklift truck operations and safe operating techniques
  • Identify typical routine problems encountered in the operation of the crane and equipment and adjustments required for correction

Participant Requirements

All NSW forklift training participants must wear steel cap boots, a hard hat, safety glasses, long pants and hi visibility shirt/vest. You will also need wet weather gear if required.

Participant Handbook

For information about Train Me RTO fees and refund policy, complaints and appeals process, please read the Participant Handbook prior to completing enrolment forms.

USI Number

All participants must have a USI number to enrol in training.  If you do not yet have one, please visit the USI website to create one.
