This course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to conduct skid steer loader operations (bobcat) and excavator operations safely within the civil construction, rail infrastructure and mining industries.
Individuals who would like to gain employment operating a Skid Steer Loader and Excavator in the civil, construction, rail or mining industries.
Minimum age 18 years
Basic command of English Language
Assessment is a combination of written questions/answers and practical demonstrations.
Communicate and work safely with others
Job planning and preparation
Identify hazards associated and implement hazard controls
Conduct pre-start operational checks
Systematic and efficient control of vehicle functions
Lifting, carrying and placing materials
Stripping / spreading topsoil and materials
Excavations, trenching and backfilling
Selecting, removing and fitting attachments
Relocating equipment and clean, check and maintain plant and equipment
Clean up work area
Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO318F – Conduct Civil Construction Skid Steer Loader Operations and RIIMPO320F – Conduct Civil Construction Excavator Operations.

Wear steel cap boots, a hard hat, safety glasses, long pants and hi visibility shirt/vest. You will also need wet weather gear if required.
